Together at St Barnabas
We are a church family of all ages and all sorts of people united around our desire to “share the hope found in Jesus” with all. St Barnabas Church is a Church of England Church and part of the worldwide Anglican Communion which are founded on the great reformation principles of “Christ alone, Scripture alone, Faith alone”. As an Anglican church we look to scripture, tradition, and reason to explore faith and life in an ever changing world.
Our Vision
To be a loving, growing, vibrant, diverse, expectant and Spirit filled community living and sharing the transforming gospel of Jesus with our communities and our city.
We do this by:
-
striving to be known by the love we have for God, our community and for one another.
-
(John 13:35, Mark 12, 29-31)
-
-
prioritising prayer and rooting all we do in the bible which we believe has all we need to live life fully, on earth and in heaven.
-
(James 5:16, 2 Timothy 3:16)
-
-
equipping each follower of Jesus, young and old to use their God given gifts and talents to help build the kingdom here in Gloucester.
-
(Acts 2:17, 1 Corinthians 12)
-
-
witnessing to God’s purposes, seeking to live boldly as “salt and light”, seeking justice and peace and caring for creation.
-
(Matthew 5, 1-16, Micah 6:8)
-
We try every day to be a little more like Jesus!
