The Church
If you are looking for a larger venue for a concert, conference or art exhibition then our main church building may be perfect for you. Originally built in between 1938 and 1940, the Grade II listed building of St Barnabas was designed by the architect Nugent Cachemaille-Day. It's high ceiling lends itself to beautiful acoustics, perfect for any live music performance!
The church building is an open space with no pillars. It has three entrances, two of which are accessible by stairs and the third is an accessible entrance. The church has central heating and two toilets, one of which is wheelchair accessible. There are also baby changing facilities.
At the back of church, we have a small kitchen with a fridge and hot water boiler. We have a number of trestle tables that can be used to serve refreshments or smaller tables that can be used in a "cafe style".
The church has a raised platform (dais) at the front which is usually used by performers and speakers. Choirs can sing from this platform or we do also have choir stalls. We have an overhead projector and screen.
We have a sound system that is controlled by an iPad. This is connected to:
3 Radio Microphones (2 are headset microphones and the other is a lapel microphone).
Handheld Microphone.
Lectern Microphone.
Aux input.
Sound Output that can be used for streaming audio",
The church has WiFi.
If you are looking to host a music performance, the church has a Yamaha Electric Grand Piano and an Organ. The church has been used in the past for the Three Choirs festival. Performers/speakers can make use of the side chapel as a waiting area if they wish to wait "off-stage".
